I arrived at Ypres Tower accompanied by Tammy & Nath at around 8pm! We introduced ourselves to Peter Varley of Ypres Tower Museum who had kindly given us to permission to investigate Ypres Tower.

I had setup most of the equipment by 21:20. Clare & Amber arrived at 21:30 at which time we began our investigation. Peter had assigned Ted Emson to look after us for the night and we were more than happy for him to accompany us around the tower.

We investigated the following locations:

Time: 23:35

EMF Meter: No EMF Fields

Thermometer: 19 °C

EVP: None

Video Footage: None

Tammy’s Roving Cam: None

Negative Ion Detector: This was triggered for no apparent reason.

Comments: Despite the lack of activity our negative ion detector was triggered which is very unusual in itself . There appeared to be no logical reason for this. This location was also choosen for the first time use of the IR Strobes.

Comments: I think this was a very interesting location, it felt very uneasy, as though we were not alone. It definitely affected Nath the most. Ted kindly gave us access to Cells at the back of the Herb Garden which were full of old artefacts.

Time: 22:05

EMF Meter: No EMF Fields

Thermometer: 20 °C

Video Footage: Lots of usual unexplained sounds recorded almost like someone breaking or snapping wood. There was nobody in the women’s tower when these noises occurred so we cannot provide a rational explanation for them. The clearest noise has been put on the video footage page of this investigation report.

Comments: Lots of activity particularly audio caught on film. Whatever resides in this location does not like men.

Ypres Tower is a fascinating place and has many locations to investigate. The herb garden was very much a surprise! I think the Women’s Tower was definitely full of activity the noise captured on camera was very unusual and we can’t provide any logical explanation. There are some restless spirits in Ypres Tower.
SPI would like to give a big thanks to Ypres Tower Museum and Peter Varley for allowing us to investigate there historical site we hope to be able to return in the future for another investigation.

A brilliant investigation to come back to after being off to have my baby. The courtyard definately has a feeling to it and if you get to go, then time should definately be spent here. Hope to go back so that I can stay longer next time!)

Wonderfull location, steeped in History, Very strange feel to the medieval herb garden and one of the main turrets inside the tower, would love to spend more time here. I would recommend to anyone to go and take a tour and see for yourself.

Another intense investigation. The contrast between the different rooms and - of course - the Herb Garden in terms of activity is staggering. Despite the unpleasant entity that resides here, I’d like to return.

I think the Herb garden was a very interesting location as was the Women’s Tower. I would like to thank Peter and Ted for allowing us to conduct our investigation at Ypres Tower. A return visit is definitely needed to Ypres Tower in the future.
